Textron Inc. named Scott Donnelly as chief operating officer

(Thomson Financial) - Textron Inc. on Monday named Scott Donnelly as chief operating officer, effective immediately.
Donnelly most recently served as president and chief executive of General Electric Co. (nyse: GE - news - people )'s GE Aviation.
As COO, Donnelly will oversee the company's manufacturing business units as well as information technology, Six Sigma, engineering and global sourcing functions. Textron (nyse: TXT - news - people )'s commercial finance unit will continue to report to Chief Financial Officer Ted French, the company said.
Shares of Providence, R.I.-based Textron were up 2 cents at $47.95.
