Cricket - India vs Srilanka

Labels:

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and decided to bat first against India in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup. The batting has clicked for both India and Sri Lanka so far in the tournament but Pakistan's performance against the two teams highlighted how undercooked India's bowlers are. They have failed to come to grips with the flat decks in Karachi and it's their batsmen who bailed them out in the wins against Bangladesh and Pakistan.

ndia would have ideally rested some players but their inability to beat Pakistan makes the Sri Lanka game significant. Dhoni suffered from cramps during his 76 and even Gary Kirsten, India's coach, has admitted the ODI captain needs a break.

Vaas and Murali have traditionally blown hot and cold against the Indian batsmen but it's the mystery man Mendis who is likely to ask questions to the Indian middle order.

What makes the man from Moratuwa so special is his ability to bowl six different deliveries. Three months into his international the batsmen are still to pick him.
