North California homeowners to see insurance rates drop

SAN FRANCISCO—Northern California homeowners insured by the American Automobile Association will be paying 10.6 percent less on their bills, thanks to new deal brokered by state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner.

The commissioner's office says the plan will save customers $50 million in Northern California, with Bay Area customers seeing more than $28 million in savings.
Each of the roughly 400,000 AAA customers in Northern California will save an average of about $130 per year.
